Volunteer at the Resource Center!  You may be able to take free courses!!!

Resource Aide --   Responsibilities:

• Provide a friendly welcome and general orientation to visitors to the Center.
• Answer phone, respond to inquiries using “Frequently Asked Questions” handout and record additional questions to be referred to someone else who can provide answer.  Research answers as time permits.  
• Log onto computers so that public can access SHV website and other recommended web sites.
• Become familiar enough with the online job skills assessment tool to be able to direct visitor in its use.
• Provide written materials such as pamphlets, web links, etc. to  room visitors according to their needs and interests, and maintain familiarity with the growing resource collection.
• Maintain files.

Prerequisites:

• Maturity, good judgment, social skills and willingness to learn.
• Attend orientation program which will include the basic purpose, operation and layout of room plus a general overview of green energy topics such as renewable energy sources, energy effeciency, green careers, green materials.

On occasion, volunteers may have the opportunity to take, at no charge, introductory or general information clean energy technology classes that would benefit their work at the CETT Resource Center.
