A report released June 10, The Clean Energy Economy: Repowering Jobs,
Businesses and Investments Across America, purports that the "clean
energy economy has grown considerably" from 1998 to 2007.  The report,
released by the Pew Charitable Trusts Center on States and Environment
group, found that job growth in clean energy and related sectors was
higher over the last decade than in the overall economy.   The report
defines the clean energy economy as alternative and renewable energy,
energy efficiency, environmentally friendly production of products such
as packaging, fuel, and transportation, conservation and pollution
mitigation, and training and support.  The report declares that States
with large and fast growing clean energy economies include Colorado,
Oregon, and Tennessee
